Who Needs a UK ETA?

The UK ETA is required for visa-exempt nationals who wish to visit the UK for:

  • Tourism and leisure travel
  • Business meetings and conferences
  • Short-term study (up to 6 months)
  • Visiting friends and family
  • Transit through the UK

Not intending to work or study
Have not been convicted of a criminal offense
No previous UK immigration violations

  • Those with UK visas or residence permits
  • EU/EEA citizens (different entry requirements apply)
